Which way should I build with AI?

Four questions, one suggestion. It goes with the article Vibe coding in 2026, which explains the five ways (A to E). Nothing you click here is sent anywhere.

1. Can you read code?

Reading means you can follow what a small program does, not that you can write it.

2. Must it last, or will it hold money or personal data?

Say yes if real people will rely on it, pay through it, or give it private details.

3. Is the change big or unclear?

Big means many files or many days. Unclear means you cannot yet say what "done" looks like.

4. Do you have tests?

A test is a small check that says pass or fail.

Your suggestion

Answer the questions above. The suggestion appears as soon as it is clear.

The five ways, in one line each

  • A. Prompt-to-app builder: describe the app and it builds a whole one.
  • B. AI in your editor: suggestions as you type, and you stay in control.
  • C. Project agent: reads your folder, edits files and runs commands. You review each change.
  • D. Cloud agent: takes a task, works alone and sends back a finished change.
  • E. Spec-driven: you write the spec and the plan first, and the AI builds from them in small steps.

This is one simple way to choose, not a rule. Tools change fast, so check each tool's official guide. The article has the examples, the folder layout and the limits.
